Seeing these messages irritates us all on YouTube. In this post we show you how to overcome these barriers and see any video you like on YouTube with just using few tricks.
If you are staying in a country like India or US you may not be able to watch every video on YouTube - that's because the owners of that particular video allow access to that video only from certain countries or geographic regions or areas. If your computer's IP address falls outside that country or geographic region or area, YouTube will display an error saying "This video is not available in your country". Similarly some videos are protected by an age verification process by an age verification filter. You need to log in to prove your age and view the video.

The most irritating thing you see when you click on a video (specially in the movie or music channels) is the "This video is not available in your country" or the "The uploader has not made this video available in your country. Sorry about that." note.

Copy the URL of the video from the address bar of your browser.

Open the website http://www.hidemyass.com/ . As the name of the website suggests, this website provides you a free proxy to surf anonymously online, hide your IP address, secure your internet connection, hide your internet history, and protect your online identity. After opening Hidemyass, paste the URL that you copied in 1st step in the space provided and click on the button "Hide my ass!" (as shown below)

You will be redirected to another webpage where the website uses Proxy servers to mask your country of origin i.e. in simple words it hides your location and IP address (This is how proxy works) and it uses its own Flowplayer to play the video. In this redirected page you can also see the number of "likes" and "dislikes", the "comments" made by the YouTube users and also the number of "views" of that video.
NOTE: You can also use Hidemyass and follow the same steps to unblock YouTube or any other site at School, work, the library, or any other firewall protected place.(1)

The second most irritating thing is to see the age restriction note. These two notes appear when you are below the required age to view that video. Generally videos are restricted on the basis of age due to The video you have requested has been rated either Strong language, Brief or partial nudity, Sexual conduct, Violence or injury, Drug reference or Flashing lights. There are two ways to view the videos which have age restriction on them:
First way
The first way is viewing these videos directly in YouTube just by making few changes in the URL of the video. Just with few minor changes in the URL you can see the video overcoming the age restriction set by YouTube. Moreover there is no need to be logged on to view the video. (Here I have demonstrated the trick by taking the "Assassin's Creed 2 - Launch Trailer video")

Change the URL of the video " http://www.youtube.com/verify_age?next_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fuser%2FAssassinsCreed%23p%2Fu%2F17%2FUBzWURM02Ks". You will have to change it to a new URL, by removing everything after “youtube.com/” up to the id of the Video; such as UBzWURM02Ks in this case and also removing the “%2F” and replacing it with a “v/”.

You will see your video in full screen and that too within YouTube. Sit back and enjoy!! Thus, just by adding and removing few alphabets and symbols, you would be able to see the video with no errors/notes/restrictions.
Second way (Not recommended)
This method is also like the previous method i.e. involving editing the URL of the video but is not recommended as it uses another website to make the video watchable. Moreover I personally do not recommend this method due to the Sexually explicit content and advertisements on the website.

Make some changes in the URL of the video. Initially the URL is looks somewhat similar to this "http://www.youtube.com/verify_age?next_url=http%3A//www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DVIDEO-ID". Now, just add the letters "nsfw" after "www." i.e. just before "youtube.com/....VIDEO-ID".

#3rd step
You will be redirected to another site where you would be able to view the video without any age restriction. Thus, just by adding few alphabets, you would be able to see the video with no errors/notes/restrictions.
Now you know the secret to view almost every video on YouTube that is watchable but is blocked due to some reason.
Note: Although there is a free browser called Mgeni, which works in combination with the anonymous browsing tool Tor (also suitable for sites other than YouTube, for eg. American TV portal Hulu) and it also masks your country of origin but I do not recommend using that browser because it is not actually doing anything to protect your privacy. Great post.even youtude unblocker adds a link to play the blocked video and it opens in a new tab via a proxy site and hence the video will be submitted and viewed.
